Guide Dogs in the Public

CapitaLand Malls welcome guide dogs.

MUIS released advisory to Halal Restaurant in support of guide dogs.

2010

GDAB pairs Esme with Cassandra

Cassandra Chiu received Esme from Guide Dogs Victoria (Melbourne, Australia).

Making Further Inroads

Special Identification Card for guide dog users made in collaboration with Ministry of Social & Family Development.

Formation of an Independent Guide Dog Team: Lim Lee Lee received her guide dog, Nice from Eye Mate Inc (Japan, Tokyo).

Guide released by Building and Construction Authority for professionals to design spaces suitable for a guide dog and its owner.

2013

Guide Dogs in Homes

Streamlined process for handlers applying license for their guide dogs in their HDB flat.

Dennis Sim received Melba from Guide Dogs Victoria (Melbourne, Australia).

2014

First Locally Trained Guide Dog Team

Gary and Jordie

Gary and Jordie became our fourth guide dog team and Singapore’s first locally trained team.
GDAB has our first locally trained Orientation & Mobility Specialist.

2015

Launch of BeFrienders Programme

Launch of BeFrienders Programme to provide friendship and encourage active lifestyle amongst our Beneficiaries.

Fifth Guide Dog Team Formed

GDAB trained and formed our fifth guide dog team – Loolan and Ria.

2016

New Training Programme – Activities of Daily Living Skills (ADL)

Launch of a new training programme “Activities of Daily Living Skills (ADL)” that teaches our beneficiaries on managing daily living tasks.

Sixth Guide Dog Team Formed

Our sixth guide dog team, Hong Sen and Clare is formed.
